- How is a guardian vetted?
- Ask any provider, including us, three specific questions: how the guardian is checked, how quickly they can physically reach the school, and what happens at short notice when a boarding house closes. A vague answer to those is the warning sign.
- What does it cost to send a child to school abroad?
- Fees vary too much by school and country for a published figure to be meaningful. What is predictable is the list: application fee, tuition, boarding or homestay, guardianship, uniform and equipment, the visa, and flights. A counsellor gives you the real numbers for your specific shortlist.
- Do schools test children before offering a place?
- Many do. Entrance tests are common, particularly for boarding places and for entry into examination years. We tell you what a given school's test involves before you apply.
- Can my child start mid-year?
- Sometimes, depending on the school and the year group, but it is usually harder — especially in an examination course. Where possible, entry at the start of an academic year settles a child faster.
- What age can my child start school abroad?

- What is guardianship and does my child need it?

- Can parents relocate with a school-age child?
- In some destinations a parent can accompany a child on a dependent or guardian visa. The rules differ by country and by the child's age, so this should be checked for your specific destination before making plans.
- Which curriculum should I choose — Cambridge, IB or Edexcel?
- It depends on where your child is likely to go to university. Cambridge and Edexcel A-Levels suit UK-bound students and specialise earlier; the IB keeps a broader subject range and is widely recognised. Continuity matters too — switching curriculum mid-stream is harder than staying in one.
